That experience was one of the reasons I created Flash Sessions.
I’ve worked with marketing, communication and branding for more than 10 years, alongside my work as a photographer, and one thing has become very clear to me: the way we visually present ourselves has a huge impact on how people perceive our work.

## What is a Flash Session?
Flash Sessions are studio-based personal branding photography sessions in Perth, created for professionals, entrepreneurs and business owners who want a fresh collection of professional images without needing to organise a large-scale photoshoot.
The experience happens on selected dates at a professional photography studio in Bassendean, where everything is prepared for your session.
You arrive, we talk, we choose where to start — and I'll guide you from there.
Throughout the session, I help with posing, movement, expressions and those small details that can completely change a photograph.
You don't need to know what to do in front of the camera.
Actually, most people don't.
That's part of my job.

## Why have your personal branding photos taken in a studio?
I photograph people in many different environments, and I love working on location.
But the studio gives us something completely different.
It allows me to control the lighting, background and overall look of the photographs while removing many of the distractions we would normally have on location. And creatively, that gives us a lot to work with.
A small change in lighting, position, outfit or expression can completely change the feeling of an image.
We can create something polished and professional and, a few minutes later, something much more relaxed and full of personality. That's one of my favourite parts of working in a studio. But there's another side to it too. The experience itself.
For many people I photograph, it's their first professional studio photoshoot.
You walk in, see the lights and the setup, choose your outfits, step in front of the camera and suddenly you're doing something that perhaps you've been putting off for months — or years. I want that part to feel exciting. Flash Sessions aren't only about walking away with new photographs. I want you to enjoy creating them too.
## “I'm not comfortable in front of the camera.”
This is probably one of the sentences I hear the most. And that's completely normal.
Most of my clients aren't models. They're people running businesses, building careers, meeting clients, raising families and doing a million other things. Knowing how to pose isn't their job. It's mine to guide them.
During your Flash Session, I'll help you with where to stand, what to do with your hands, where to look and how to move. Sometimes the difference between a photograph you don't connect with and one you absolutely love is a very small adjustment. A shoulder. A hand. Your posture. Your expression.
We figure those things out together during the session. I don't want to photograph a completely different version of you. I want you to look at your images and think: “Yes. That's me.”

My background in marketing has a big influence on the way I approach photography.

Bringing different outfits can also help us create more variety during your session.
A blazer can give us a more polished corporate look, while removing it can immediately make the next series of images feel more relaxed.
Accessories, layers and different tops can all help us create variety without needing to completely change your look.
And before your session, we can talk about your ideas so you don't have to figure everything out alone.
